For over three decades, Sudhir Choudhrie has developed a diverse career through writing, philanthropy, entrepreneurship, politics and arts, including his vintage private car collections in India. Born and raised in Delhi, India, Mr. Sudhir led a somewhat average life under his mother’s care. Mr. Sudhir attended the University of Delhi, where he achieved a bachelor’s degree in economics before joining his grandfather in running a real estate business.
Later on, after experiencing and witnessing how a business is operated and achieved, Sudhir Choudhrie started his own business that involved buying and selling TV equipment from the UK to the Indian government. This business gradually expanded into selling other consumer products such as machinery; thus, becoming the most prominent Indian trading business.
Mr. Sudhir’s next business venture focused on India’s export market, which led him to establish the Magnum International Trading Company Ltd in 1975. Apart from his entrepreneurship skills, Sudhir Choudhrie has also served as a senior executive leader for multiple organizations, particularly in the aviation sector, including C&C Alpha Group, Deccan Aviation Ltd, Kingfisher Airlines and eBookers PLC and more
Through his excellent leadership and entrepreneurship skills, Mr. Sudhir has won several awards, including the Asian Business Lifetime Achievement Year Award of 2013. In addition, Mr. Sudhir’s active participation in politics has made him popular globally, particularly in India, where he was appointed as a political advisor by Tim Ferron, a Liberal Democrat Leader, in building a sustainable relationship with the British-Indian communities.
Sudhir Choudhrie is also an aesthete who appreciates the work of art, and through his and his wife’s efforts, they established the Stellar International Art Foundation in 2008. This particular art foundation holds some of the best artworks done by famous art professionals, including Damian Hist, Anish Kapoor and Andy Warhol. In addition, Mr. Sudhir’s philanthropic efforts include financially supporting other philanthropic organizations and institutions such as Columbia University Medical Center Green Templeton College at the University of Oxford, among others.
