Heath Ritenour Highlights New Staff Additions And Prepares For IOA Growth

Heath Ritenour, IOA’s CEO Heath Ritenour, who joined IOA last May, has made good on his promise to expand the company’s staff with three new key hires. All three are veteran claims professionals who bring years of relevant experience to their new roles at IOA, which is on the brink of a major growth spurt. Lonnie Sturdivant comes aboard as Claims Supervisor. Sturdivant has 30 years of claims experience, having worked for several general agencies and two other risk management firms during his career. His background includes managing the entire claims process at every level. The highest point in Sturdivant’s career was supervising an average staff of 200 employees and processing more than 1,000 claims annually. “His skills and understanding of the ever-changing insurance industry will be an asset to our company as we expand,” said Heath Ritenour.

Ritenour also hired Charles Wood as Claims Supervisor. In addition to his vast claims experience, Wood has been a Life Insurance Agent since 1984 and is licensed in several states, including Texas. Wood also worked for three companies as a national account manager. He commented that “Wood is an excellent fit for us at IOA because he has the knowledge and experience across many lines of business.”

The third new addition to the IOA team claims adjuster Benji Connell. Heath Ritenour said Connell will be an on-the-ground adjuster who knows the importance of communication with insureds, agents, and carriers. He added that “Connell’s claim history is exemplary.”

All three new hires attended the University of Mississippi for their undergraduate work. Lonnie Sturdivant earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Charles Wood earned a Bachelor of Arts in Management Information Systems and Heath Ritenour earned a Bachelors of Arts in Marketing. He added that “When it comes to claims, experience matters. Having worked for other companies will give me the necessary perspective to lead IOA into its next stage of growth.”
